It is time for a fucking revolution.
If the fashion industry thrives on newness and novelty then they are failing themselves.
If you want a ‘new twist on a classic style’ I’ve got one for you.
Make a pencil skirt for someone who is 5ft 3.
Make a white shirt that will button over my breasts.
Make a shift dress that doesn’t get ‘nipped in at the waist’.
Make a pair of shoes that won’t aggravate my ankle injury.
Make a ‘nude-coloured’ dress that is dark brown.
Make your plus-sized jeans in actual denim, not some shitty stretch fabric dyed blue.
You want a fresh take on the classics?
Try making your clothes for someone who isn’t six foot tall and a size 6.
For once.
Please.

oh and also make fucking steel-toed boots under the size mens 8 1/2

Make some form-fitting shirts that are thick enough to stop our bras from showing through.
Make sensitive skin-friendly buttons and clasps so we don’t have worry about the metal making us break out in contact dermatitis (that’s a localized rash that can easily become an infection, for the uninformed).
Make a long dress that is easy to go to the bathroom in.
Make a pair of jeans that actually fit in the crotch area instead of putting us at risk of a yeast infection (No “V”).
Make more dress shoes that aren’t heels.
Put more pockets in women’s clothes.
CREATE A FUCKING UNIVERSAL SIZING SYSTEM THAT MAKES SENSE.

Amen to all.

NO MORE FAKE POCKETS

crushingthebinary:

Shoutout to all the closeted nonbinary people who deal with constant misgendering and gendered language and can’t do anything about it without outing themselves. You’ll get through this.

I DON’T THINK IT’S LITERALLY POSSIBLE FOR ME TO LIKE OR FAV OR UPVOTE THIS ENOUGH

I would like to see more of these.

Is this not a thing in America?
It’s a thing all over here in Australia. You get a wrist band. Means you can buy no booze, but you get free soft drink.

this is a thing in canada too like all you gotta do is say that youre driving

Free….pop….in the US for….DD’s? Free…anything to encourage safe behaviours?
That’s too much logic for this country. Sounds like Socialist propaganda

Marina Ginestà, pictured here at age 17, worked as a journalist during the Spanish Civil War and was a member of the Socialist Youth. Standing on top of the Hotel Colón in Barcelona, it was one of the only times she was armed.
I was at a loss for words when I saw this picture. Her smile could rival Mona Lisa.
She died on January 6th of this year.

Steven Barnes and Tananarive Due’s Danger Word (Horror Short)

A 13-year-old girl and her grandfather, hiding out in a wooded cabin after a plague, meet the challenge of their lives when her birthday trip to a trading post goes horribly awry.

Starring Frankie Faison (The Silence of the Lambs, “The Wire,” “Banshee”) and introducing Saoirse Scott (“One Life to Live”).

Nominated for Best Narrrative Short: Pan African Film Festival and BronzeLens Film Festival. Directed by Luchina Fisher (Death in the Family). Written by Steven Barnes and Tananarive Due, based on their novel Devil’s Wake.

Hey, so aside from being a successful black woman sci-fi author (!!!) Tananarive Due is the daughter of John and Patricia Stephens Due, who were both pioneers of the civil rights movement in Florida. They were involved in one of the first jail-ins and Mrs. Stephens-Due was active in the movement until her death in 2012. Mr. Due is still doing the civil rights thing, mentoring up and coming civil rights organizations (like the Dream Defenders) and organizing marches in his native Quincy, Florida.

Tananarive wrote Freedom in the Family: a Mother-Daughter Memoir of the Fight for Civil Rights with her mother.

Also, YES for black leads in post-apocalyptic-esque story

Call for Beta Readers: EXTRACTION & THE INCOMING TIDE

Hi friends!

I’m looking for a few brave and candid beta readers to provide feedback on the first two novels in a series. I’m sketching out the third novel in the series, and I’m 99% sure there will be a fourth volume as well. Leave a comment or use the form below if you’d like to get in on the ground floor of this series!

don’t wear your leather jacket on hot days you could get heat stroke

remember, being punk is only fun when you’re alive

Always wear two pairs of socks under your big leather boots, there is nothing punk about getting blisters

not everyone wants to rock out as hardcore as you, always ask what other people are comfortable with, its very punk to ask how people are feeling

Punk responsibly.

Also quite bothered that the implication that “nonbinary” and “trans” are mutually exclusive.
